Mensa is an international high IQ society with chapters in over 100
countries. It is a non-profit organization open to people of all ages
who score at the
98th percentile or higher on a standardized, supervised, IQ or other
approved intelligence test.
The Philippine chapter of Mensa is Mensa Philippines.
The Mensa qualifying test has a minimum age of 14, but younger children may
join by presenting evidence of a qualifying score in an approved
standard IQ test.
So far, 7 kids have been accepted into
Mensa Philippines. In order of joining, they are Reese, Sam, Bree,
Ryan, Cammie, Vienne, and Caleb.
Recently, parents
of these kids decided to have regular playdates and other meetups
to allow the kids to interact and have fun together. They had stargazing
sessions, trips to museums, and lots of games and running around.
These also allow the parents to share advice with each other about raising their gifted children.
This blog hopes to document some of the activities done by the Mensa kids.
